Up close and personal with a friendly Babbler (Pellorneum sp)

Most of the time, wild animals would run away when they encounter humans. However, there are always some exceptional cases like these Black-capped Babbler (Pellorneum capistratum).

I was casually walking along a trail when out of no where it came out from behind a tree trunk.

I was momentarily stunt as it was to see a big fat human being staring down at it.

I didn't move a single limb except my itchy fingers on the shutter.

Since it was so friendly to me, I slowly bend down and tried to place my finger close to it. I was hoping that it might want to hop onto my finger.

As we are getting acquainted, suddenly another one hop out from the nearby bushes. The earlier one (hereby I named it as Babbling 1) is on the top while the new fella (which I named it as Babbling 2) is at the bottom of the above photo. Maybe they could be a pair.

Babbling 2 did not waste anytime to say hello to me and was quick to grab a bug from the trail.

Meanwhile Babbling 1 was just casually foraging at the side on the trail.

Babbling 2 wasn't interested to have a photo shoot as it was very busy looking for food.

When Babbling 2 decided to forage further away into the forest, Babbling 1 remained close by. Unfortunately I didn't see it getting any food. Maybe "sudah kenyang' (stomach is already full).

I was very lucky that there were no other hikers around when I saw both of them. Once Babbling 1 decided to join Babbling 2 further inside the jungle, I too continue my usual hike.

IT HAS BEEN SUCH A LOVELY EXPERIENCE !
